The Westwood Public Safety Emergency Communications Center is the heartbeat of the emergency response system here in Westwood. The team is composed of 9 professional Telecommunicators with over 90 years of combined dispatch experience. 

This team is highly trained to accurately record information from callers, provide crucial life saving pre-arrival instructions to those in need, and to ensure responder safety with all calls for service. Our team also has highly trained members on the METRO-LEC Operational Support Unit, the Metro Boston 911 Peer Support Unit, as well as the Massachusetts Telecommunicator Emergency Response Team.   

The highly secure communications center houses the computer aided dispatch system that the telecommunicators use to log all calls for service, as well as the emergency medical dispatch software used to provide pre-arrival instructions on all medical calls for service. The telecommunicators also have the technology to view many of the camera systems in town, make inquiries into the Criminal Justice Information System, as well as access many other technologies that are secure and confidential.
